Our aim is to promote excellence in open, distance, and online learning wherever it occurs.

Aims and Objectives

Our aim is to promote excellence in open, distance, and online learning wherever it occurs, and to provide a benchmark through which consumers may gauge the quality of courses offered by our membership.

Upon application, the lADL will evaluate and asses the products and services offered by course providers, and through a process of appraisal and evaluation, ensure that those products and services conform to the minimum standards set by the IADL Membership Committee.  Organisations which satisfactorily meet these conditions will be admitted as either approved members or accredited institutions, and will be entitled to claim IADL recognition on their publicity and promotional material.

Through a process of continuing quality control, the IADL will monitor the services provided by its membership as an ongoing assurance that standards are maintained.

IADL will investigate consumer complaints made against member organisations and, at the request of both parties, can act as liaison or in an arbitrational capacity to assist in the resolution of disputes.
